It is our job as owners and riders, to be the best stewards to our horses that we know how to be. The more we learn, the more we know, and the more we know, the better our experience with our horses will be for both us and for them. It is no small task that we humans ask of our horses. They ask for so little in return, but when we give to them they respond by giving even more!
At Pangaea Equestrian Services, we believe in understanding and knowledge. We see our horses as a whole, and work with what the horse is capable of giving us. We believe in encouraging our horses to use their minds as well as their bodies. A versatile horse is one of a sound mind and body, and a horse who has been well educated is a willing and fun partner. We want our horses to love working with us as much as we love working with them.
Knutur's expertise is building a strong and broad foundation for young horses, by taking them from untouched to being solid riding horses with confidence and a firm understanding of what their role in the horse and rider relationship is. When teaching riders he helps them learn to effectively communicate with their horses be it to improve the pleasure riding experience, train a young horse from the ground up, or enhance training for competition.
Cerice's focus is on taking the basics further by emphasizing finesse, lightness, and furthering the horse's skill set. For the rider, she likes to teach rider performance as a way to help the horse do its job and to build the horse and rider team. She focuses on balanced riding, using clear aids with an emphasis on lightness and balance coming from the rider and then passing to the horse.
